Well, lower league opposition or not, that is three wins in a row. 5-0 v Walsall, 2-0 v Hull and yesterday we neatly despatched Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 with goals from Liam Ridgewell, Gareth Barry and Gabriel Agbonlahor.

The great thing is ‘We want Ellis out,’ chants were sang throughout the match.

1-0, celebration, then back to ‘we want Ellis OUT.’
2-0, celebration, then back to ‘we want Ellis OUT.’
3-0, celebration, then back to ‘we want Ellis OUT.’

That is the head of steam we’ve all been waiting for, just shows what the promise of new consortiums can do to galvanise the fans. Ellis has to be getting the message and every bit of pressure now will make him less and less likely to keep ‘spoiling’ approaches for his own ends.

The end doesn’t have to be bloody, but I think the fans are showing it will be if he doesn’t resolve the future of the club quick smart – and no, we don’t mean by bringing in a new manager.

Roy Aikten has obviously got the players together, by all accounts they appear to be showing the urgency and desire that was so sadly lacking during O’Leary’s spell at the club. He said he’s not spoken to Ellis about the managers job adding;

‘I spoke to the chairman yesterday. He was interested in the injuries and the team selection and that was it. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll carry on till further notice and do the best I can and let the players do the talking for me on the pitch.’

Talking on the pitch – indeed sir.
