A number of Aston Villa fans have long felt that talented Academy graduate Kaine Kesler Hayden could potentially be one of the next crop of youngsters to begin to make his first team breakthrough, and the 19-year-old right back has enjoyed a great loan spell out with League Two side Swindon Town.

Having made the switch out to the County Ground back in early August, Kesler Hayden went on to make a total of 19 starting appearances for the club, with two showings from the bench and he opened his goalscoring account in December’s 2-1 victory over Walsall.

It was an interesting time for Kesler Hayden as he also won a penalty on his debut before finding himself suspended for a period for a double booking in only his second game.

Given the loan deal was originally meant to be for the whole season, have we recalled him to play cover for Matty Cash and be a different option in the second half of the season, or, have we recalled him now we have a Championship suitor and we want to give him six months at a far higher level as we continue preparations with one eye on next season?

We’ll know soon enough.
