Saturday afternoon saw a welcome return to Championship action for Aston Villa after the March international lull and head coach Dean Smith was looking for his side to make it five successive victories as we hosted Blackburn Rovers at Villa Park this weekend.

Another solid performance saw Tammy Abraham open the scoring and we doubled our advantage in the 61st minute as Tyrone Mings found the net. Blackburn did end the match in slightly stronger terms and managed to get one goal back, but there was to be no overall comeback from them.

A deserved win and some strong performances with England manager Gareth Southgate in the stands, but according to statistics website Whoscored it was a Scot that impressed the most.

With McGinn helping himself to a score of 8.08 in the game to take Man of the Match (third time in a row), the top five on the day were completed by Abraham (7.82), Mings (7.51), Andre Green (7.29) and Jack Grealish (7.26).

An additional mention for Anwar El Ghazi who also polled a plus-seven score on the day with him grabbing an assist.

Can we make it six on the spin now?
