Aston Villa closed out the regular 2018/19 Championship campaign by welcoming Norwich City to Villa Park on Sunday.

We already knew John McGinn would be rested, but head coach Dean Smith made further changes with one eye on the upcoming Play-Offs, and despite those changes Villa put in a decent performance against the second tier title winners and many will feel we were unlucky to not come out with a point – having fallen to a 2-1 defeat.

Statistics website Whoscored had a clear standout for our Man of the Match and filling in for Tammy Abraham, Jonathan Kodjia took that with a score of 7.88.

Completing the top five on the day were Axel Tuanzebe (7.01), Conor Hourihane (7.01), Andre Green (6.89) and Henri Lansbury (6.62).

With West Bromwich Albion confirmed for the Play-Off Semi-Final double header now, Villa continue to go into the season extension as the side in good form despite this defeat, and confidence for some players would only have been bolstered by that showing irrespective of the final result.
