Three things Aston Villa need to do in the local derby v Birmingham City this Sunday to get the victory? With Villa going for seven wins on the trot, we need to:
1) Errrr…. WIN!
And to win well would be good, but if we can`t win good, just get the three points any-which-way we can.
How about beating them 5-1 again please?!

2) Don`t give them as much time on the ball as we gave Burton Albion.
We were two up and cruising v Burton Albion but then took our foot (or feet!) off the peddle a bit and twice they were able to get back within contention making it a far more nervous affair than it needed to be. If we`d played at a higher tempo throughout, I don`t think they would have been able to live with us. Our first goal illustrates that point really.
3) Snap at their heels and shoot on sight!
Blues will come and no doubt try to kick Jack Grealish to high heaven. Our players need to be up and at the Blues as well because the refs in this division can`t be relied upon. Hopefully our players can be physical without losing their heads, we don`t need red cards thanks!
And if we are up and at them, we also need to test their defense and pepper their goal with shots. Lets not make this a tight nervous affair, lets play our game.
I can`t wait…. I love the local derbies and I hate them as well. I`m sure most feel like that?!
Or as sirdennis said in the forum thread :
1/WIN
2/WIN
3/WIN
I hope that helps.
And some, err, wise words from deanovilla:
1. Jack to not get sent off for a silly challenge.
2. Jack to score in front of the Holte End.
3. Jack to not get sent of for celebrating scoring in front of the Holte End.
I was thinking along the lines of;
1/ Score
2/ Don’t let the opposition score
3/ Finish the game with eleven men on the pitch.
Yes – keep their heads and show some cojones – don’t bottle it, as you can be sure the Noses will be bang up for it.
keep it tight at corners,,,,,
play fast again through the middle a bit more and look for hogans runs,,,
bit more possession,,, 55 45 will do for me,,,,
despite there revival,,, we should do them 3 1,,, watched them recently,,, very very lucky g
Score more than they do – job done!
WIN
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
Pride you are 100% correct … especially the 11 on the pitch at the end, key could be our bench, like to see some attacking intent …Grabben, Onamah and Green ????
Win. Go Second. Stay there. Go Up. Simples..
The players were motivated for Bristol City, if they show the same attitude today the result could be similar.
