Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by los_angeles_villan:

(Holding breath) Villa will v Odense BK:

The result isn’t as clear cut as I thought it would be I must admit, maybe the lack of signings so far is knocking confidence, hopefully it isn’t the meaningless pre-season friendly results that have people worried, they are only ever about gaining match fitness!

Win (43%)
Don’t make me think about it! (24%)
Lose (20%)
Draw (13%)

A draw would be ok anyway, bring them back to Villa Park next Saturday to finish the job!

Ashley Young says he can’t wait to make his European debut tonight saying on the official site this is the reason he moved to Villa.

He told www.avfc.co.uk: ‘I don’t think I’ve ever made such an early return to competitive games but this is such an important game for us to get into the UEFA Cup and I think the boys are fully prepared. We’ve had a few games to warm-up and now we’re looking for a good result to take back to Villa Park next weekend. From a personal point of view this is my European debut, which is another milestone after making my England debut last season. Hopefully I’ll get lots more international caps and I’ll play a lot more European games for Villa.’

He also says he is no different to all players, he wants to challenge himself in Europe and assures the fans that the team know that Villa are a ‘massive club’ who need to be fully back in Europe.

‘When I first joined the club we finished 11th and we improved on that last season to finish sixth. That gave us the chance to get into the UEFA Cup and we’re delighted to have that opportunity. Now we have to grab it with both hands.’
