Vital Villa asked, following the ‘players statement’ made last Friday to Tim Nash of the Express & Star, who was behind the statement?

Seems 76% believe David O’Leary was behind it. I must admit I – and a good many reporters and fellow fans – find it hard to believe that a reporter was allowed to talk to the players at Bodymoor Heath training ground without David O’Leary finding out or knowing about it? Surely if he didn’t know they would have held the meeting outside of Villa property?

Seems an enquiry is taking place and that David O’Leary could be sacked for misconduct if found guilty of having any knowledge, it also seems that the dressing room is split in their support for the manager who is, it has to be said, very unpopular with the majority of fans.

However he has got some backing following this poll with 60% saying David O’Leary was behind the statement and should be applauded for it. I actually disagree, if he was behind the statement, he should have been man enough, like Graham Taylor and John Gregory before him, to put his own name to it.

8% said O’Leary was behind it and should resign, a further 8% said O’Leary was behind it and should be sacked.

19% thought it was a handful of Villa players, only 3% thought the whole squad released it (something that the Express & Star editor Martin Swain has said it wasn’t) and 2% said it was one player unaided.

Our latest poll asks who you want to see out of Villa Park. The options are:

Doug Ellis.
David O’Leary.
Both, but O’Leary first.
Both, but Ellis first.

Doris the tea lady to save money so Doug can afford to pay himself another £50 000 bonus for his ‘hard work’.

I’ll go with Doris the tea lady, she insists on bourbon biscuits even though rich tea cost less and also won’t buy a cheap brand of coffee to give to the players. Just how wasteful is this lady? Sorry Doris, your reign is coming to an end, in future it will be kwik save own brands for players and staff alike.
