It’s being reported that John Terry and Aston Villa have a mutual 12 month extension option on his existing deal.
Having arrived as a free transfer over the summer from Chelsea, Terry’s impact in the squad has been clear for all to see as we rose into second place in the Championship table and he made his 22nd appearance for us against Birmingham City last weekend.
Now everyone knew when he signed a key part of his decision to come to Villa Park was the fact he didn’t want to turn out against Chelsea, and with the solitary aim being ‘win promotion’ this year many wondered what that would mean for a potential second season for him.

A picture says a thousand words. Steve Bruce during the 2-0 win over the Blues. Very touching. Says it all doesn`t it? I have to admit, when people were wondering if he would be there on Sunday, I don`t think I had any doubt. He`s a proper bloke, proper football and by the way he acted on Sunday, proper Villa a well. sirdennis with his bunch of fives. Heroes.
1/ It can’t be anyone else than Dennis Mortimer.
Saw him make his debut for us on boxing day 1976 and Ron Saunders described the signing as his Christmas present to the fans , and what a present. I don’t think he ever had a bad game and it is one of lifes great mysteries that he never got an England cap. He could run all day , he had great vision and his late runs from midfield usually resulting in a goal were legendary. Nothing typified those runs more that his vital goal vLiverpool in the title winning season. That picture of him lifting the European Cup will stay with me forever.

This is interesting (then again, I don’t get out much). What do we need to get auto promotion? Looks more than doable to me! #AVFC https://t.co/AEv7bTIrmr

#avfc #utv The Temperence, The Eight Bells and The Dukes Head will all get very busy so either arrive early or use Putney, short walk over the bridge. Plenty of on street parking around Fulham area but not close to the stadium after 1pm & 3pm
