It’s being reported that Sir, and Certainly Walks On Water, Brian Little, could soon be appointed to our bored of directors.
It’s long been known that the make up of the bored room was to be addressed and someone with football knowledge would be nice, and there was plenty of clamour for legends of the past who knew the club and knew what our ambitions should be, and Little today has become the hot favourite to take up a position.
Also former Football Association and Manchester City chairman David Bernstein is linked.
I’m hugely torn.
It’s long overdue – in fact an appointment like this has been overdue since the day Randy Lerner officially became owner.
And whilst welcome, why appoint now if not for a Public Relations – lighten the mood benefit – as whilst Brian might walk on water, he’s going to spend the first few months in the job as a non executive director (I would imagine) wading through **** and I wouldn’t want him on the end of the inevitable blow up that’s going to come when relegation is confirmed.
I also wouldn’t want him used as the friendly face to tell us ‘don’t fear relegation’ ‘we’ll be fine’ ‘false narrative’ ‘shirt sales are great’.
Appointments like this should be after relegation, yes for the boost to confidence of the fanbase but once and after thoughts are made known.
Shame he wasn’t in ten years ago thought with the likes of Sir Dennis of the Mortimer and Graham of the Taylor.
Reaction on the forum is as you’d expect – please click here and it’s hugely positive.
Maybe I’m that cynical now I can’t take anything at face value when it comes to being a customer of my preferred business, and I see ulterior motives that aren’t there?
