It felt like it might be one of those days again for Aston Villa as we welcomed Leicester City to Villa Park late on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors had a deserved lead for the opening 17 minutes until Villa rallied and Ezri Konsa made a slight connection with Emi Buendia’s powerful header to draw us level, but we could’ve easily gone in at the break behind. The second half was a different story, we got our act together properly and few would’ve batted an eyelid had we come out of the game with a four, five or even six goal victory given the chances we had – and the efforts that were taken away from us by Michael Oliver and VAR.

There were some very good and solid performances from a number of players in the final 45, and Konsa understandably stood out for BBC pundit Garth Crooks as he was compiling his Team of the Week selections.

Vital Villa’s Ezri Konsa Forum Thread

“It was an important goal for Villa. Emiliano Buendia may have got the header but it was Ezri Konsa with the final touch. If there was any doubt about who scored Villa’s first goal, there was no doubt about who scored the second. Konsa is proving to be a real threat in the opposition penalty area and was looking to complete his hat-trick as the game wore on.”

Konsa continues to show that he’s been an absolute snip of a purchase for £12million from Brentford, and it shouldn’t be too long before he smashes through the 100 appearance milstone for us and who knows, maybe deserved England recognition.
