Aaron Hughes To Be Loaned Out?

The gossip sites are suggesting that former Newcastle defender Aaron Hughes could be leaving Villa Park and heading to the Magpies enemy in Sunderland!

The 26-year-old defender has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Phil Bardsley from Manchester United so he might be loaned out with Roy Keane first in the queue.

Keane said: ‘We’re short of a couple of full-backs and maybe a right-sided midfielder. But the lads who have been playing have given us a chance of promotion and we’re delighted about that. The squad’s working very well for us at the moment. Generally, it is looking very healthy. I remember mentioning around Christmas time that we were short of bodies.’

The link to Sunderland seems a bit tenuous and as it is only on the gossip sites I can’t see much substance to it, we surely need Hughes to remain as back up as he can play right across the back of defence?
