Having equalled the goal scoring record of Aston Villa legend Peter Withe in the recent 3-3 draw with Sheffield United, striker Tammy Abraham put himself into the history books on Saturday afternoon as he hit his 21st league goal for the 2018/19 campaign.
Jonathan Kodjia had come close to the long-standing record of 20 set back in the 1980/81 First Division title-winning campaign with 19 of his own back in 2016/17 following his arrival from Bristol City, but Abraham has more than proved himself worthy with his form this year.

21 is a fantastic return with a number of games left to play so the 21-year-old should certainly be able to add a few more to our new club record.
Abraham’s achievement is simply the cherry on top as with two goals from Conor Hourihane and a return strike from Jack Grealish, a 4-0 win was certainly the way to lift faltering spirits around the club and give everyone something to shout about again.
Now the question is, can we keep it going.
