Absolutely Huge Season For Albrighton

Marc Albrighton has admitted that he has an ‘absolutely huge’ season ahead of him as he looks to impress Paul Lambert.

Speaking to the Official Site Albrighton explained that with him sitting out the two clashes last season against Norwich, that he has to take his opportunity to impress the new boss and to be fair, he needs to show he can kick on and become more consistent in the eyes of the fans.

‘It really is a fresh challange for me because I didn’t play in either of the Norwich games last season, so the gaffer hasn’t seen me up close on the pitch. It’s a massive season and one I am relishing. I had a first season which was good but the second wasn’t so good, this third season is absolutely huge for me.’

Albrighton also confirms that the nagging thigh injury he carried at the end of last season has cleared up well, so he’s fit and raring to go in pre season.

It certainly is a big season for Albie. He’s got to win over a lot of fans who don’t see any progress in his game, and he was poor last season as he acknowledges. All players, apart from those who are serial wastes of a wage, should get a clean sheet from last season but they can’t hide behind Eck, the atmospshere or his tactics (lack of) anymore. We need to see a flying Albie, delivering dangerous crosses from game one and I live in hope that we do.
