I said in the article – Aston Villa CEO Says “There is a lot of wood to chop and we have started chopping.” The Long Term Future Of AVFC In Focus about Christian Purslow (CP) understanding that their actions will speak much louder than words.

No truer than when we asked about the awful tannoy system at Villa Park. In some places, the Holte Upper for instance, it is apparently way too loud. Then where I sit in the Trinity Lower, you can hardly hear a thing. The funny thing for me is I’m often only 10 odd feet away from the announcer and I can’t hear him. (That sounded funnier in my head than when I’d typed it to be honest!).

Anyway, CP says actions speak louder than words and according to our CEO, we will soon be able to HEAR words because they are going to completely change the tannoy system.

I know staff at Villa have tried to get this done for a few years but have never go the final capital spend authorised. Instead, we’ve ended up with those at the top giving excuses that when they test if when the ground is empty, it all works and that they aren’t allowed to test it when full for health and safety reasons.

So now, CP has authorised a completely new system, the state of the art best money can buy kind of set up.

Just a small example that they are listening, they are noting the jobs that need doing and they are acting.

I think we might enjoy this regime if this is just the start.
