Marc Albrighton has highlighted Gareth Bale as Spurs dangerman and knows he will have to track back and support Eric Lichaj if we expect to get anything from the game.

Speaking on the Official Site with little over 48 hours left before we pick up our league campaign again (snow willing obviously), Albie said of Bale:

‘I rate him massively. He is having a fantastic season and is showing himself to be an unbelievable player.’

Albrighton will obviously be tasked with creating chances of our own, but he knows he has a big job working with Lichaj to nullify the threat that Bale brings.

‘He’ll be tough to cope with, but I’m confident we have the players to do that. If we keep him quiet, hopefully that means we keep Tottenham quiet and get a good result. My defensive work will be massively important.’

Albie has mixed feelings about Spurs, in our last encounter he grabbed his debut goal but we failed to secure any points from the match, grabbing another goal would be nice but he knows that it’s far more important that we grab all 3 points this time round.

‘I scored my first top flight goal against them earlier this season. It was great to score there but I’d love to do the same in the return match, this time in a win.’

Ashley Young remains a doubt at the moment, but otherwise in terms of injuries it’s ‘as we were’.
