Looks like Big Sam Allardyce isn’t intending to come to Villa Park but has said what a ‘compliment’ it is to be linked with all the vacant positions!

Big Sam is third favourite behind Martin O’Neil (who won’t come with Ellis in charge) and Alan Curbishley (who wants a year off football and surely wouldn’t come whilst Ellis is in charge anyway!).

Allardyce, who should be the new England manager, said it was ‘quite a compliment’ having also been linked with the Sunderland job.

‘I always seem to be speculated on with every job that comes along, which is rather nice. Normally, it’s when you are out of work that you get to be favourite for most jobs, so at this moment in time that would be Martin O’Neill and Alan Curbishley. If I’m running a close third to them and I’m already in a job, that’s quite a compliment.’

  • As long as deadly is around a big name manager wont. Allardyce may have done all he can at Bolton but would he really want to give it up to work for him?
