Angel Re-Union

Rumours are growing that Villa are chasing the signing of Javier Saviola away from Barcelona. The People claim DOL made a ‘secret trip’ (can’t be that secret if it is in the People?!) to initiate a move. Saviola is available on a free. The 23 year old striker has been told his services are no longer required at Barcelona.

Reports in The People and The Sunday Mercury claim that Angel – a friend of Saviola – told DOL that the striker was interested in a move to Villa. Angel played with ‘the talented playmaker’ at River Plate as Saviola made his debut at only 16 years old.

The People claim ‘Barca’s sporting director Txiki Beguristain has confirmed that Saviola will be allowed out on loan. And that has started a stampede, with Real Betis, Sevilla and Deportivo La Coruna also hoping to scrap it out for his signature.’

DOL is in desperate need of increasing Villa’s fire power although there have been several links to a move OUT for Vassell recently, Man City being the latest linked if they sell Shaun Wright Phillips.
