Columbian hit manJuan Pablo Angel says he has not lost his ‘touch’ in front of goal.

Angel, who was a shock starter at the Valley on Saturday with top scorer Luke Moore being mystifyingly benched, only has two goals this season.

He told the official site: ‘I haven’t forgotten how to score goals. I’ve done it all through my career and I’m absolutely certain I can do it again. I feel as fit and strong as ever and I’m sure I can get back on a good run. A striker is always judged on goals and, as I’m not scoring at the moment, people ask questions. There’s always speculation.’

One question has to be pointed to the midfield who certainly don’t provide the ammunition for ANY of our strikers.

He also denies that he is looking to move away or that he is no longer happy at Villa.

‘But, if I was scoring, these questions would not crop up and hopefully I’ll be in the goals again by the end of the season and then we can look ahead again. I’m happy at Villa. I’m used to the country and the league and I’m happy to stay here as long as they want me.’

He also doffs his cap (that will be international cap, I’d doubt he has a flat cap!) to the fans which is always nice to read:

‘I’ll always be thankful to the fans. I haven’t had a good season but they have always been first class to me. I can’t ask for anything more.’
