According to The Express Aston Villa might have agreed a fee for exciting 22-year-old
Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout.
This youngster is highly regarded and has also apparently been looked at by Liverpool and Tottenham.
Nantes president is quoted in L`Equipe that a fee has been agreed with an English club adding ‘I am obliged to give in, he is 22, he has a big future and he will play for a great English club.”
He also mentions the tax problem for the top earners in France leading to a problem for clubs keeping their players as the top rate tax isn`t applicable anywhere else…!
The fee is thought to be in the region of £10.8million according to the report.
Looks like Randy Lerner is allowing the Benteke and Delph money to be re-invested doesn`t it? Great news for Tim Sherwood and hopefully for us fans! Throw in some of the obscene tv money as well and who knows what we can achieve and surely that then makes the sale price even better for our owner?!

In another report, also in The Express it is claimed we might have missed out on Liverpool`s 24-year-old Fabio Borini as Capri have jumped to the head of the queue. Surely if we wanted him we`d have had him as part of the Christian Benteke deal?
