And now official confirmation also
Aston Villa can confirm that Sunday's scheduled Premier League fixture with Everton has been postponed.
Our fixture with Newcastle United, which was postponed as a result of a similar outbreak at their training ground, will now take place on Saturday, January 23 at 8pm.

So our next game will be Wednesday 20th January, which is the re-arranged game away v Manchester City
Villa go on to say that the postponed game (due to an outbreak up t’north at their training ground) v Newcastle United will now be played on January 23 at silly-o-clock (8pm).
Looks like most agree with the decision, hard not to really isn’t it?
that’s surly the correct decision, We had the outbreak last thursday, 10 days isolation takes us to this sunday….Safety comes first

Completely the right call. The fixtures are stacking up but got to let the team get back to fitness. Man City on Wednesday will be tough on the lads

We’re gonna be in the bottom 3 with 20 games in hand at this point

Not sure this is going to be sustainable though. Are you? Newcastle and Fulham have had matches postponed, we had to play our kids (and didn’t they do us proud?) in the FA Cup, now we have had to postpone two games and on it will go with the current situation with infections. I’ve long since argued, from the first lockdown onward, that if the games can be played, they should be played – and other sports – because whilst we all have to lead these strange lives, it gives us something positive to focus on. But obviously, the health and safety of players and staff have to be put first.
Time, I guess, will tell. Hope the season can continue, in a healthy way for all players and staff, if not, maybe a circuit breaker will be required.
The thing that keeps me going football wise, is the thoughts of the sound we’ll make when the lions are finally able to attend the games and roar once again.
