Aston Villa youngster Lewis Brunt became the latest member of our Academy set up to sign his first professional deal with the club yesterday.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been a regular in David Hughes’ Under 18 side as we look to improve on a sixth position in the Under 18 Premier League south section, and regular followers of our Under 23 side may well recognise his name as he’s taken in Premier League 2 and Birmingham Senior Cup action to as he continues to develop as a player.

Yesterday was one of many milestone moments for the youngster though, as he put pen to paper on a three year deal keeping him with us until the summer of 2021.
Hopefully, in a couple of years time he’ll be another household name for us if he can achieve the potential club staff obviously see in him and in terms of the pathway through from the Academy and into the first team it was good to see head coach Dean Smith feature in the promotion photos as that should give everyone another boost.
