Another exit for Villa in this slow to start transfer window and again, the exit goes to Manchester City.

All very confusing when Villa are meant to be building a squad but hey ho, 28-year-old former Arsenal goalkeeper Stuart Taylor, who slipped to third in our pecking order behind Brad Friedel and Brad Guzan has moved to the City of Manchester Stadium.

Taylor went to Brad for advice as obviously he played for Mark Hughes when both were still at Blackburn Rovers.

Taylor said on the Manchester City official site:

‘I talked to Brad for some advice and he couldn’t speak highly enough of the manager and his goalkeeping coach Kevin Hitchcock. He has a high regard for Kevin as a person as well as a coach and I can’t wait to start. This is a fantastic club to be joining, a club that is going places with a great new owner and a manager I have a lot of respect for.’

Mark Hughes said: ‘We are delighted to be able to add a goalkeeper of Stuart’s undoubted calibre to the squad. Stuart is still a fairly young goalkeeper at 28 but he provides a wealth of experience and reliability.’

Apparently the England U21 keeper Joe Hart will now go out on loan to gain first team experience.
