Following news that West Bromwich Albion have stolen a march on the capture of goalkeeper Sam Johnstone owing to our current financial problems, manager Steve Bruce must be wondering if he can make plans for his tea this week, let alone the season ahead.

You would think with the impact Lewis Grabban had for us during his loan spell from Bournemouth last year, he would’ve been someone that Bruce certainly wanted back following our failure to gain promotion last season, but Sky Sports are reporting this afternoon that Nottingham Forest are now in pole position for his capture with talks on going on a speculated £5million deal for the 30-year-old.

Oh for the days when we didn’t have to bat an eyelid at spending in the region of £5million for a player, unfortunately for us it’s still all eyes on the 1st of August with hopes that we won’t have another HMRC issue on our hands instead.

Meh…

Johnstone has now completed his move to The Hawthorns as well I’ve seen.

  • What next in this despicable run club, the only thing missing is a peasants Revolt.
It’s absolutely out of control. Like a kids panto ,we all know who the Ugly sisters are.
There’s no happy ending in sight

  • It all boils down to signing three very expensive strikers. Over two seasons, one has come good once.

Chances are one will have to go and I doubt McCormack is that man due to his diminishing re-sale value.

Just to exacerbate the problem, Bruce had to resort to expensive loans and frees to cover up for his own poor permanent recruitment. Hourihane being the only one of his signings for a fee, who played at Wembley is testimony to this flaw.

Mistakes were made before the current manager came in, but Villa have managed to continue making errors time and time again. Playing the Big Time Charlie was plain stupid.

  • What a bloody shambles. Losing Johnson to the Baggies, Lewis Grabban going to Blues. Offers turned down for investment into the club which could have avoided this and retained Grealish for another season. The league looking at our management team to see if they are suitable ( pity that didn’t happen a lot sooner )
Is Brian Little still involved in an advisory capacity or has he been replaced now, possibly by Frank Spencer???

The sooner Xia ships out the better, it only needs him to bring Carson Yeung on board and wev’e got the set, .

  • Yet another loan signing we’ve put time into for their club to benefit at the expense of our trainees. I just don’t want any more loan signings unless we’ve got an option to buy.
