The Villans kept up their play-off hopes at the weekend with a good 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.

The boys have to keep this up now that they’ve got into this position and there seems no reason why they won’t be able to do exactly that.

Certainly, though, regardless of division for next year we will need to bring in new faces to strengthen the side and it is clear that it could well be a bit of a tough one.

Financially we are probably okay but the futures of Tyrone Mings, Kortney Hause and Axel Tuanzebe are all unclear – though we’d surely like to keep all three.

In the quest for a contingency, though, we’ve been handed a setback about Mike Van der Hoorn according to Wales Online.

They are suggesting Swansea might look to trigger an extension to stop him leaving for free in the summer.

Certainly, that makes things a little tough on us and it really does remain to be seen who we’re going to manage to get in at centre-half.

One thing is for sure, though, we do need extra defensive cover.
