Aston Villa fans disappointed reactions to the Millwall draw.

When you have an off day you hope that one player is having a good game, thank McGrath that it was Johnstone.

Never got going all day – whenever we play teams down the bottom end, its as though the players think they can just turn up and stroll around the pitch for 90 minutes. Johnstone MOM by a mile. Hopefully Jedi and JT aren’t too far away from returning,

Really disappointed after watching the game. We somehow managed to snatch a point at home to Millwall today, a team that finished 6th in league one last season, with no away win all this season. If not for lady luck and Sam Johnstone they would have fully deserved their first away win today. I could use a multitude of superlatives to describe how we played today (or didn’t) but I’ll refrain from foul language and be kind and say we were very poor and I think that’s being kind. 1……yes 1 shot on target at home, just not good enough. The problem for me is during the course of the last 21 games is that we’ve seen to many performances of this ilk. On that basis I can not see us getting automatically promoted. With Wolves drawing today we missed a huge opportunity to close the gap at the top and with Bristol City and Derby winning over the weekend it makes it that bit more closer in the top 6. If Cardiff win Monday night we will be 9 points off 2nd. I’m trying to be optimistic? 25 games to go. Some tough games left in December. Away to Derby next which we really need to win. UTV

1 shot on target says it all. Disgraceful ,should get our money back.

Davis does not score. Mucho problemo. Way too much pressure for him. We have a striker problem.

Utterly pathetic! One shot on target through 90 odd minutes at home is a disgrace. If we carry on like this, it’ll be mid table mediocrity at best.

Playing badly and winning (or picking up points) is often said to be the sign of a good team. I disagree. Good performances count for me. Over a season a team that performs well most, will get the most points. Luck plays a part on a game to game basis, but a good team to me in the second tier is one that a reasonable number of times plays the opposition off the park, a luxury Villa Park is constantly denied.

Could hardly look after Elphick came on he’s disaster waiting to happen. Why play Davis a lone striker? What was Hogan doing on the bench if not used when we needed a goal?

Lets not let our heart rule our head. Talk of promotion the way we are playing is delusional. Lucky to get a point today and not for the first time against teams we should be dominating. Keeper saved us an embarrassing score line. We need to adjust/change our tactics at times and include some of our young players in the match day squad, but unfortunately our manager continues with the same old same old. We will win nothing (promotion) playing like this and are very fortunate to be in the position we are in the league.

Not a good day, suppose we should be glad we didn’t lose it playing like that, Bruce needs to be careful about breaking the bank for Onomah. We badly need a good striker, but you can guess who he will use next, which is worrying.

Disappointing? Yes, without doubt.. Gave the ball far too cheaply.. Caught out in the air, but more worryingly by pace on the counter attack… Depressed? No, not really… WE DIDNT LOSE… Last season we would have… The team has spirit and resilience … When we don’t play well we still have the habit of digging out a point or three… Obviously need to improve, I believe we will… IMO definitely top 6, but really got to aim for top two

The work effort and enterprise in the last quarter of the pitch is pathetic , we don’t play to Davis’s strength in the box , he’s great at shielding the ball but doesn’t appear to have that goal poachers instinct yet, needs a ‘livewire’ player to feed off him … O’Hare !!! Said this before do we practice shooting at goal in training ???? We have players with speed why don’t we get them to use it to get into the box instead of the usual route of ‘back to Hutton across to Samba … to Chester …to Taylor …to Chester etc etc by which time they have eight behind the ball !!!! Bruce and Co should be ashamed of the stat of 1 shot on target by Villa and 8 by Millwall …. promotion hah

Just watched MotD, Benteke might be going cheap in January.

Gayle will be the wisest investment for promotion. He is the king striker in this league. 16 mil cheap considering he could be the difference between promotion and getting trapped in this league for years to come. Our strike force our duds, injured or too young. In current team I would put a adomah as striker up top. Jan 1 striker in, please don’t barter too much. Save the pennies, but please spend the pounds. Xia over to you

He`s not the manager for Villa, get rid, the football is mind numbing.

Disagree eltoro for this league he perfect.

Pretty awful performance that. A point is better than nothing but … well, we never got out of the starting block and that happens too often.

  • I’m not sure why anyone is surprised at how poor we are. Bruce has a reputation for workmanlike teams, and that is what we are seeing, by and large. Totally uninspiring stuff, but just about getting the job done as we sit in the play-off places. It will b
