Not a massive amount transfer wise today.

QPR are being linked with free agent Richard Dunne. The defender, who missed the whole of last season with back and groin injuries is all of a sudden now, apparently, fit enough to play for the Republic of Ireland this weekend. Hmmmm.

Brett Holman, scouted under the McLeish regime and brought in last summer on a free, is considering his future having fallen out of favour with Paul Lambert. Holman told APP: ‘I’ll knuckle down for the next two and a half weeks, then the future comes in. Maybe I have to make a decision. Maybe not. It all depends on what happens at Villa. If something needs changing, then a change will be made.’

Seems likely, if he isn`t going to feature, that he would move on, he`s a decent enough player and at his stage of career won`t want to be bench warning I`m sure. He seemed to fall out of favour having said in January that he hoped Villa brought in more experience!

Mat Kendrick says, following links in the press this week, “Villa have expressed their interest in Aleksandar Tonev and are awaiting developments about their move for the 23-year-old Bulgarian winger.”

Mat has an article in The Birmingham Mail saying Villa could see around six new arrivals this summer. That seems a decent amount, but we`ve already released two in Lichaj and Dunne and it seems obvious that other fringe players will also be moved on.

Meanwhile SkySports have reported that 21-year-old Villa midfielder Andras Stieber has signed a new one year deal and might well go out on loan next season to gain more experience. He told rangado.hu: ‘My contract was due to expire but I have signed for another year. Now I’m 21 it seems that I could go somewhere else on loan because I can’t get into the senior squad. We’ll see if I go to another country or stay in England. I don’t know anything about it, my agents are working on my future and it will be decided in the summer.’

And that, seems to be that, right now.
