Tuesday evenings Premier League match between Villa and Bolton has been postponed following the tragic events surrounding Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba on Saturday.

23 year old Muamba, who has represented England at every youth level, collapsed on the pitch during Bolton`s game against Spurs. The match was abandoned as the horrific scenes were played out in front of visibly upset supporters and players alike, with paramedics battling to resuscitate the midfielder.

A statement on the Bolton Wanderers official website reads:

“Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Tuesday evening`s Barclays Premier League fixture has been postponed, following talks with Aston Villa and the Premier League.

The club would like to thank Aston Villa and the Premier League for their kind support and understanding at this time.

A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.”

The football world has united in it`s support for Muamba and his family, the latest showing of support being former Villa defender Gary Cahill revealing a shirt with “Pray 4 Muamba” printed on it after he scored in Chelsea`s FA Cup fixture.Lets just hope he pulls through.
