Thanks to Darren Lewis at The Mirror we have our first link of the transfer window to Spurs striker Jermain Defoe.

Fine, not a bad link in truth, until you read that the report says Spurs want to offer the England striker plus cash for Christian Benteke.

Defoe had 19 in all competitions last season but had a torrid time after Christmas with injury and having dropped down the pecking order when he was fit.

The link to Atletico Madrid has also returned and apparently they would be willing to pay in the region of £25million.

To be honest, if he has to go (and if his agent is playing up for his player to move) then it would be more palatable if he moved abroad wouldn`t it? And then re-invest the full fee back into squad rebuilding.

Obviously I`d rather see us keep him but, well, we all know the players (and agents) have the power these days!

As we reported yesterday, Sky Sports have Montpellier president Louis Nicollin saying that Villa have bid for 23-year-old Moroccan international Younes Belhanda, see: Villa Bid For Moroccan International?

And now we have a video thanks to the transfer thread: Click Here

Finally, looks like Arsenal might have prized away Villa youth midfielder Daniel Crowley. Goal.com say that the Gunners have completed the move for the England Under 17 international. I`ve seen nothing official as yet.
