Randy Lerner, the soon to be new owner of Aston Villa, has seen parallels between the Aston Villa faithful and the fans of his NFL team the Cleveland Browns.

He said: ‘They both have extremely avid, loyal and passionate – to the point of religious – support. So yes, I suppose there is an overlap. • I said it before the takeover and I`ll say it know. £60-£64million for Aston Villa FC is cheap. Randy got a bargin.

  • Randy can say what he likes, when he likes, how he likes. If he wants me to wear a dog mask to away games and a Browns jersey then I will. Its still very much the honeymoon period, and the guy can do no wrong. Whisper it quietly though that my in-laws who
