Leandro Bacuna has spoken about the type of player he is, and he would love to become our Frank Lampard.
After joining the club today on a 3 year deal, Bacuna told the Birmingham Mail that he was a box to box player who likes to get forward and take a shot:
‘As far as heroes are concerned, players such as Frank Lampard, they fight and they show themselves and I’m a type of player like that. My mentality is that you start at the bottom and you show yourself, that is what I intend to do. We want to show that Aston Villa can take its place among the top teams.’
Some level headed comments in the interview from the youngster and it seems he really buys into Lambert’s vision of how he wants the club to move forward as he talks about the gaffer wanting to build a ‘new generation’ and allow the youngsters to ‘show what they can do’.
