Bad News For My Chicken Pies

Bad news for my pies, it seems that Shaun Maloney is settling in at Villa Park and has denied reports linking him with a return to Celtic.

The wee scamp, who showed great interest in my Chicken pie at the last home game, told the official site following his great free kick that saved the Villa’s blushes at Sunderland:

‘To be honest all the reports are not really from down here. I don’t really see them but obviously my family do but I don’t make much of it. I am enjoying training a lot more than I did last season but I would like to play a bit more. Obviously you want to play as much as you can and get in the starting eleven. I want to play a lot more but to be honest there are other players on the bench who want to play as well.’

Adding, ‘Fingers crossed a goal like that will help my cause. I haven’t seen the manager about my future I am just training away.’ And after being asked if he will still be here when the transfer window closes at the end of January the Scotland international said he can’t see why not as long as Martin O’Neill wants him.

‘I would imagine so. I’m more settled. I have got a place now. I am really enjoying training now – I just want to get on the pitch a bit more. I have got a place in the city centre so things are fine now. It is better than it was last season.’

Good news, the lad has so much potential, lets hope he gets his chance and takes it with both hands, or probably more appropriately both feet.
