I was going to ignore this, bit weighed down by doom and gloom at the moment really… however, it is a talking point!

WBA manager Roy Hodgson has told the baggies official site: www.wba.co.uk one of their main targets is to finish above Villa.

It will be the first time in 33-years and to be fair, it will also be a bloooooody disgrace.

Roy says they won`t be taking their foot off the pedal now they are in the safety zone and instead, want to win as many games as possible.

And on finishing above Villa, who always had – which was never enough but was something to hold on to – the ‘biggest club in the Midlands tag, Hodgson says:

‘But, if we have a goal, that would definitely be the goal – to break what is neither a record or a hoodoo, but a fact of life that it’s a long time to be below an important rival in the city. To have 33 years where you’ve always seen a rival finish above you is a long time. Now is our time to try and break that. We have a great opportunity of course because we’re also playing them.’

(Last time the baggies official site state was 1978/79 season)

Villa are on 35 points with a game in hand on the Baggies (and as Roy states, we are still to play them… we face them away on 28th April). Baggies are on 42 points.

We need two wins and a draw to level with them. It is doable but we shouldn`t be under looking up, we just shouldn`t.. and if that is arrogant, then tough, it is how I was brought up as a Villa fan, the biggest… that is why they all hate us!
