Barry Bannan has focused on winning his first team spot back, as opposed to heading out on loan somewhere.

With Delph likely to be returning, it has opened up the possibility of Bannan having a spell out on loan, but speaking to the E&S Barry said his focus was to end the season being one of the first names on McLeish’s teamsheet.

‘I want to show the gaffer what I can do and by the end of the season I want to be one of the first names on the teamsheet. That’s what I’m aiming for.’

He certainly hasn’t shown the kind of form and energy in recent matches, but that’s difficult to do when you regularly only seem to get 8 minutes when we are already losing or under the cosh.
