Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has told the Blackpool Gazette that three of his players, including Villa’s on loan midfielder Barry Bannan have been dropped from the team for the game on Tuesday against Sheffield Wednesday after they were spotted out in a night club in the early hours.

Good grief, don’t these kids know what they have at their feet and the chance in life they have?! Then again, those who haven’t sinned and all that… then again then again, I’d not had the chance to be a top player, I didn’t even have a chance to be an average player, would be quicker for me to say I was rubbish and have done with!

Holloway (you don’t mess with him do you, lets be honest!) told the paper:

‘You can’t hide a thing in Blackpool and I’m very, very disappointed in them. I’ve dropped them from the squad as I want to send out a message that I won’t have that. Do they think the time that they got in is acceptable especially when they had training or treatment on Sunday morning? We are professionals and going out in the town after a defeat is not a professional thing to do.’

Funnily enough I’d just been talking about Bannan in the Villa Times today… ok, it isn’t that funny now I come to think about it.

Vital Blackpool asked how likely Villa are to re-call on loan Barry Bannan. Me being an – ahem – expect – cough – on these things gave them an answer! Vital Blackpool said: ‘Aston Villa are likely to allow an extension of Barry Bannan’s loan deal at Blackpool……that’s according to the editor of Vital Villa!’ Not quite what I meant really, I don’t know if they will extend it, just that it is unlikely he’ll be needed for our first team just yet…! Adding ‘The teenage midfielder has been in sparkling form for the Seasiders since joining the club in November. This led to Ian Holloway landing the Villan until the end of the season but on the last day of the transfer window Martin O’Neill changed the duration to just an extra month, given the Premiership sides’ injury worries’.
