Baros Bench Swap!

Milan Baros has spoken to L’Equipe of his time at Villa and says ‘The first season at Villa was the best,’

But then said of the lack of ambition despite the promises made to him. Doug et al making false promises? Don’t believe that for a second!

‘They promised other players to build a big team. Some came but it was not enough. I was disappointed with that. Coming back from the World Cup, I knew I would leave. In the end at Villa, I didn’t feel any trust. People had a different sight on football than mine. I never said anything against them, we just didn’t see things the same way.’

Must have been a very hard time for him, after all, he must have only been on £20 000 a week or so. Poor lamb.

He is now finding he has swapped life on the bench at Villa Park to life on the bench at Lyon. That said, I thought he was quality so wish him luck!

‘I must admit I can’t understand anything. I will learn French. I have to watch how the team is playing, and wait for an opportunity. I have played abroad for a long time, I know how it works. It is not that easy to remain on the bench. I would like to play each match, I achieved good things when I came on, but that’s football.’
