Baros Still Doubtful

After missing the last three Premiership games despite playing for his country, he looks set to miss a fourth for us!

Baros is still struggling to shake the nagging achillies injury that has plagued him over the last few matches. Let alone the aggravation he suffered from being called up for his country in the meantime.

‘Baros won’t be right for Saturday. The bottom line of it is that he was getting better. The Czechs took him away and he played. Now he’s come back to us with the injury worse than when he went.

‘You pay the player’s wages and he goes over there, is given an injection to mask the pain to get through the game. You feel great for a short time.

‘We could have done that, which we’ll never do, to put him in against Middlesbrough, but you know it’s not curing anything. It’s making the injury worse.

‘That was done and he played 90 minutes, but he’s damaged it even more. Now he’s come back to us and it’s worse than when he went – a few weeks down the line.’

‘I should imagine he might get fit by the play-off (Norway) and then they’ll take him again. The clubs might pay all this money in big wages, but we have no say on things like that – end of story.’
