Vital Villa asked, via Deano suggesting the poll, which Villa will be the biggest hit at the World Cup?

Milan Baros was the runaway winner with 57% of the votes. Seems the Villa fans have more faith in him at international level than many have at club level. His penalty miss at the weekend didn’t get the best of reactions, nor did his lack lustre performance. However, I still maintain with the right service and a few more quality balls, he would be a different class for us. As it is, he often appears uninterested. Or is that just frustration?

Our captain, who got my vote, Olof Mellberg (Sweden, who England face on June 20th) got 21% of the votes and shot stopper Thomas Sorenson (Denmark) got 12%.

Ulises de la Cruz (Ecuador) polled 4% and Wilfred Bouma (Holland) got 6%

  • Bit strange that Sorensen is in the poll as Denmark failed to reach the World Cup?????????? but I reakon Baros will do well because his record is fntastic for the czechs shame he isn’t that good for us t****r!!!

  • Lets hope Baros goes to world cup comes back with the confidence he seems to be lacking and scores for fun like he does foes for the Czechs if not sell him for 15mil.

  • Yeah, Vince, I don’t think Deano asked who would play the best though, just who would light it up, so maybe he is going with a torch or something!!?

  • Maybe Baros will get a lot of attention from the world cup, we’ll recoup our money and then be able to afford this fella from Peterborough.

  • Well he sure aint lighting up Villa Park. Questioned the signing, still far from convinced. Aint convinced either that the Czechs will do as well in Germany as is anticipated. They are in a group with the U.S.A., and they (the Yanks) could well prove to b

  • The better he does the better it is for us as i cant see him staying at VP for more than a couple of seasons and we want his value to increase
