Milan Baros’s agent, who now speaks for Villa apparently, says that the Czech international is waiting for Chelsea to push through the move for the striker.

Paska said: ‘Aston Villa are not willing to release Milan until they get an adequate replacement. They would like to bring in Shaun Wright-Phillips, but they have not reached an agreement so far. That is why the talks will continue in the next week.’

Meanwhile Martin O’Neill has had a dig at Paska saying the club have heard nothing about any Spanish interest, which suggests Baros’s agent is trying to talk up a move for his client.

O’Neill said of Levante’s rumoured interest: ‘I know nothing about that. You should just ask his agent, I think, because he had him turning down Real Sociedad – which we knew nothing about either.’

Other reports suggest Chelsea will make their minds up quickly about Shaun Wright-Phillips and Villa could learn today if their bid, loan or permanent, has been successful. Some suggest any Baros move is dependent on SWP moving in the opposite direction.

  • In some ways I hope his move falls through the greedy so and so. What right do Baros’s people have based on his efforts so far this season, they should show some respect. He’s been injured or in night clubs since the summer.

  • The agent is speaking for Baros, and just about sums up his lack of respect for the club and his desire to get out. I just want this SWP/BAROS thing over, one way or the other.

  • The bloke has no respect for AVFC! He tries and sells Baros to other clubs, hence O’Neill knows nothing about Levante switch, and he shoots his gob off about Villa being in for SWP, when it is obvious Villa do not want to highlight their targets to the press. Totally unprofessional!

  • The Agent wil be happy for Milan Baros to move, where any where… Just move Mr Baros so the Agent can get his cut. Income Generation thats all this ******* is Interested, not Income for Villa, Baros just him-self. Bottom line if Baros stays at Villa the Agent makes nothing……

  • agreed Col, agent making up bids to get other clubs interested, it stinks, was a sorry day the day that agents got involved in football, the balance has tipped to far in favour of players now and it is alienating fans.

  • I really hate agents ********(removed for libel reasons!).
all agents seem to care about is money not there clients just ask Saviola’s agent.
Paska now thinks he is the mouth of Villa what rubbish we all know J P is the mouth of Villa [Edited by FearVilla]

  • Isnt he openly admitting breach of contract by admitting that Baros had talks with Real Sociedad, seemingly without the Villa’s knowledge or approval, if we are to believe MON?

  • We all accept I think, that Baros is ‘out of here’. We’ve just got to hope that we get the best price possible for him, and dont give him away.
