Barry Says Team Will Respond

Villa skipper Gareth Barry went in the referees book once again and picked up his fifth yellow card of the season and will therefore serve a one match suspension missing the trip to Sheffield United. Hey John Gregory, Barry is getting his shorts more than dirty these days, he’s a star!

Meanwhile Barry said the team will bounce back from last nights poor show against Manchester City.

‘We’ve shown we can bounce back before.’ Adding ‘City set the tempo and we didn’t play like a team in the top-five of the Premiership. I don’t know what it was. This time it has caught up with us and conceding two early goals hurt us. The manager knows what is required and we have to look at what has gone wrong and go from there. This is more disappointing than when we lost to Liverpool last month, because this time we didn’t play well. The good thing is that we know we can bounce back. We did it after Liverpool and now we must get this out of our system and concentrate on our next match.’

Next up a trip to high flying Portsmouth this weekend.
