Leeds chairman Ken Bates has said that Villa have always been adamant that Fabian Delph’s loan deal was always going to be short term.
Speaking to Yorkshire Radio, he said.
‘Aston Villa always said that they would not extend it but we will have to find out with whoever gets the managerial position, it will be their decision.’
So it sounds like they will try again, but with Delph getting a run of games unless he’s coming back to go straight into the first team, there isn’t much sense in sticking him back on the bench when he could be getting his sharpness and confidence back.
