Christian Benteke has spoken out about his future at Crystal Palace. The Daily Star are reporting that we could be interested in re-signing Belgian in the summer if we are promoted back to the Premier League.

However, the 27-year-old has said he has every intention of remaining at Selhurst Park beyond the end of the season:

“I’m under contract until 2020, so I want to stay here. I’m going to speak to the chairman (Steve Parish) and the club about what they want to do with me.”

“At the end of every season, you have to speak, to see the plan for the next season. To speak, to see what they want to do with me.”

The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Palace would “listen to offers” for the striker, with the player having struggled to score goals since his £32million arrival from Liverpool in 2016.

In his two seasons with the Eagles, Benteke has scored 19 goals, but this campaign he has hit the back of the net just three times in 29 appearances.

The forward was only a substitute in the 5-0 win over Leicester City at the weekend, although he did manage to get on the scoresheet. He came on with just four minutes left but slotted home a penalty in injury time to seal a convincing victory
