Patrik Berger has been assured by Martin O’Neill that his age won’t go against him and the former Czech international says in the Mail ‘I know I still have something to offer.’
Adding ‘I feel really good. If you’re fit and right and do everything you should do then basically, age doesn’t matter. To be honest, I’m old enough to look after my body and I want to be able to get up in the morning and know I can train every day. The difference from my point of view is that I look forward to coming to work and playing. That wasn’t the case every day last year.’
He says his aim is to get himself fit and be available for selection.
