Berger Set To Rot

Patrik ‘the gob’ Berger will relish no more first team action at Aston Villa, he’s set to rot in the reserves after his comments in the papers yesterday.

As we all know and have read the idiot spoke openly to journalists saying that he’d advised Gareth Barry to leave Villa and join ‘once in a lifetime’ Liverpool, and that in chats with our captain he had made it perfectly clear that he would be playing Champions League football every season and that such a move would give him all the medals he could want.

Yeah right – for a start, Liverpool, give over.

Martin O’Neill has reacted exactly how everyone hoped. And no doubt O’Neill is further annoyed after the last bust up with Berger and the fact we gave him a years extension and so far he’s just given the medical staff more to do (again).

Speaking on the official site today, O’Neill confirmed that Berger had played his last game for Villa.

‘I was really disappointed and surprised that Patrik, with all his experience of dealing with the press, would make such an inappropriate comment.

‘The sad aspect of it is that we are paying Patrik’s wages for him to recommend one of our players to another football club. It’s ludicrous.

‘I think Pat realises that now and he’s apologised. He said he didn’t mean a great deal of harm but the harm’s been done and he won’t be playing any part in proceedings from here on in.’

Personally, I would say his comments (especially after refusing to play in the reserves the other season) more than constitutes gross misconduct, and we should just cancel his contract, pay him not a penny more and change the locks.
