Has the South Wales Echo got their facts wrong, or do they know something that we don’t?!!!
Our official site said ‘Mathieu Berson and Eric Djemba-Djemba aren’t ready yet, but we’ve got a reserve game against Chasetown on Monday, so they’ll maybe play in that.’
But the Echo today said:
‘Former Aston Villa player Matthieu Berson is in the Auxerre squad for tonight’s pre-season match with Cardiff City at Ninian Park (7.45pm).
Former French Under-21 international Berson, 26, spent the 2004-5 season with Villa in the Premiership, having played for the previous five seasons at Nantes.’
