Best Still To Come From Heskey

Emile Heskey has said Villa fans will see the best of him this year after a more than competant pre season campaign.

Heskey isn’t exactly a fan favourite and since his £3.5 million move from Wigan last January, it’s ironic for a striker that come tomorrow he’ll have played his former club twice, which matches his goal tally.

Speaking to the E&S Heskey explained that he was confident his niggly injuries were behind him and that he could show some real form and win the crowd over this year.

‘I don’t think the Villa supporters have seen the best of me. I’ve still got a lot to offer and they’ll see that.’

Explaining the obvious Heskey continues to state his greatest strength is in holding the ball up and bringing others into the game, going further and saying he should be an on the pitch role model for our younger lads to keep them from becoming frustrated in games that aren’t going our way..

‘With my experience I should be helping with the younger lads and calming them down,’

Heskey ends the interview by explaining he’s perfectly happy at the club. A strange addition as I’ve certainly heard nothing else, but probably just an opportunity to mention the good ol boys at the club.

‘I’m always happy when I’m playing football with a good team. The lads have taken to me since January and hopefully I can go from strength to strength.’
