The decision to send winger Andre Green for a loan spell out at Portsmouth over the summer confused plenty of Aston Villa fans, albeit it was designed to get him a good run of games following his injury troubles.
The spell didn’t go to plan though as he underwent surgery almost immediately at the club, but in recent weeks he got himself into good goalscoring form for them, having a good impact as a substitute in matches.
Having been called back in January, Green made an appearance from the bench in the weekend’s disappointing clash with Hull City, but coming on with Ahmed El Ghazi in the 59th minute, plenty of fans were left impressed with his 30 minutes on the pitch.
Following the game, the 20-year-old took to social media to thank fans for the welcome back he got from the fans at Villa Park.

The message was well received and Green’s efforts came in for plenty of praise, and a number of fans want him in the starting lineup for the next game believing he can offer more than both Yannick Bolasie and Albert Adomah.
Well played today Andre, looked sharp. Good to have you back. UTV
