Aston Villa defender Mitch Clark has enjoyed a very good loan spell out with Port Vale in the season of 2018/19.
With Villa being threadbare at the back in the opening half of the campaign, plenty of fans disagreed with the decision to loan him out but it was the right decision to get him a good run of games and see what he could do as he stepped up from Under 23 football and into the real game.
Across their League Two campaign, he made 43 appearances in total to date, with a showing from the bench and he’s come in for plenty of praise from their manager, and their fans, for his efforts on the pitch.
With him being out of contract this summer, the expectation was we’d sort a 12 month deal as the minimum out for him on his return, so head coach Dean Smith could take a closer look at the 20-year-old, but apparently not as earlier today he confirmed his time at the club had come to an end.

Plenty of fans were disappointed with the news but I have no doubts he’ll be snapped up quickly.
All the best Mitch… Not well chuffed with Suso & Co just now ???? If they replace home grown lads with a load of purchases just be repeating the same stupid error ever since Doug Ellis left the building IMHO… Hope you smash it going forward ???????????? #AVFC #OneOfOurOwn
