With the announcement of the next set of fixtures for the television cameras, Aston Villa’s derby clash against Birmingham City in April has not been selected.

We host the near rivals at Villa Park at midday on Sunday April 23, but both BT Sport and Sky Sports have decided to focus on the promotion run in the Championship with Brighton’s trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City being selected for Friday treatment, with Newcastle United’s home game against Preston North End being switched to the Monday evening.

Reactions to this have obviously been mixed, increasing worries of away fans trying to snare home tickets have figured in talks since, as has our woeful record in front of the cameras so more are hopeful of three points and bragging rights.

  • If past history is anything to go by this one would need to be shown after the 9pm watershed.

  • Let’s be honest we haven’t played well when we have been shown live so this may be a blessing. As long as we win I’m not bothered we aren’t on the telly.
