Icelandic midfielder Birkir Bjarnason has said that Bodymoor Heath is buzzing following our comprehensive double victory.

Having taken a four two victory over Norwich City and then a four one League Cup victory over Wigan Athletic, spirits have certainly been raised after our poor start to the campaign – mainly the performances have done that trick with the scores just the cherry on top.

We have actually looked like a side the last two games and long may that continue.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media following the Wigan game, Bjarnason’s aim was to see Villa make it three from three when we face Bristol City in front of the Sky cameras on Friday evening.

‘There`s a good feeling at Bodymoor Heath – you can see it in the faces of the players as they arrive every morning. There are plenty of smiles and the atmosphere is very positive. We feel very good after two victories.’

Bjarnason went on to say that now having put in the performances and got our reward from that, we simply have to continue doing the same thing.

‘We showed plenty of quality in the last two games and there was an aggressive approach – a real willingness. We need to keep that. We`re now heading to Bristol City and we`re determined to turn our away form around. We are focused on getting a good result in this next game.’

He ended by saying.

‘I believe we have real quality in the group. We have showed that in the last two games. We have good experienced players and good young players who are coming through. Let`s all show that quality again on Friday. That`s what we`re looking to do.’

  • I still think (hope) that there’s a real player there in Bjarnasson. He came close to scoring in a run of games last year and I think his goal on Tuesday will give him that boost he needs…

  • Agreed gordonsleftboot! lol Lets hope this confidence grows, an away win this Friday would work even more wonders.
