Boom Boom Bouma Boost

David O’Leary has been handed a Bouma Boost. Which is nice……….!

The Dutch international defender has returned to training and has been pencilled in for the reserves game v Leeds next month.

Bouma has missed two months due to a knee injury in which time Jlloyd Samuel has claimed back his left back position despite the constant provocation from the Villa boo boys. Samuel has again been linked to a £2million move to Charlton Athletic and the way a minority of fans heckle him, I’d not be shocked if he completed the move. (Rant over!).

O’Leary told the official site: ‘He’ll (Bouma) play in the reserve game against Leeds on March 7 that’s the aim for him. We want to get him and Patrik Berger fitter and we’re looking for him and definitely Berger to play 90 minutes in that one. I’d expect Bouma to play 90 minutes, but the great thing is that Jlloyd Samuel is doing really well and he holds the shirt and now it’s up to Freddie to challenge him for that left-back position.’
